Fred Chapella, Hopi Tribe
The Hopi Maiden Kachina is from the Shalako area of Northern Arizona. The Kachina Maiden or Kachin' Mana, is the most prevalent of all. She often appears in traditional ware and her presence is a prayer for corn and respect to Mother Earth so she can feed her people. The Hopi Maiden is a representation of appreciation to all the blessing and gifts we are given by Mother Earth.
The Kachina is a beautiful expression of the many figures and symbols in the Native American Culture!~
