The squash blossom holds significant meaning to the Native American's. It dates back to the early 1800's where the crescent pendant was used by the Shawnee, Delaware, Cheyenne, Comanche and Navajo tribes. The traditional Squash Blossom displays the Naja which is known to ward off evil. It was first used on the headstalls. The Naja was placed front and center between the horses eyes and then later on was used as Neckwear.
